Difference between Research Paper and Dissertation
             A research paper can be defined as the sum of various sources of information, collection of various pieces of information or content about a topic, and a reassessment of the literature in a field. A research paper analyzes a view or position or argues a point. Irrespective of the type of research paper is written, the finished research paper should present the, writers own thinking backed up by others information and ideas while, a dissertations can be defined as a report on a research project or an outspread reasoning of a topic. In simple terms it can be defined as any formal discourse in speech or writing.  It can also be defined as a written essay, treatise, or thesis, and are especially written by candidates for the degree of Doctor or Philosophy. The term dissertation is also known as thesis in the general sense.

            Research paper can also be defined as an expanded essay that presents the writers own interpretation, evaluation or argument about a topic of research. While dissertation can be defined as a detailed and careful study of a methodology or topic, with a statement of conclusion with logic to back it up. Generally a research paper is chosen by the professors and they also select the subject matter related to the research while a dissertation is generally chosen and done by the students pursuing PhD.
